Cookie Policy

Information about cookies

In accordance with Law 34/2002 of 11 July on information society services and electronic commerce (LSSI), in relation to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Organic Law 3/2018 of 5 December on the Protection of Personal Data and Guarantee of Digital Rights (LOPDGDD), it is mandatory to obtain the express consent of the user of all websites that use non-essential cookies before they browse through them.

What are cookies and what do we use them for?

A cookie is a small information file that is stored in your browser each time you visit our website.

Cookies and other similar technologies such as local shared objects, flash cookies or pixels are tools used by web servers to store and retrieve information about their visitors, as well as to ensure the proper functioning of the site.

Through the use of these devices, the web server is able to remember certain data concerning the user, such as their preferences for displaying the pages of that server, username and password, the products they are most interested in, etc.

Its role is essential for the provision of numerous information society services. Among others, they allow a website to store and retrieve information about the browsing habits of a user or their equipment and, depending on the information obtained, they can be used to recognise the user and improve the service offered.

The purpose of cookies is to store the history of your activity on our website, so that, when you visit it again, it can identify you and configure its content based on your browsing habits, identity and preferences.

A cookie is harmless; it does not contain malicious or malevolent code (e.g. viruses, trojans, worms, spam, it does not open pop-up windows, etc.) that could damage your device (computer, tablet, smartphone or any other device), but it does collect certain information concerning the individual (browsing habits, identity, preferences, etc.).

What information does a cookie store?

Cookies do not usually collect special categories of personal data (sensitive data). The data they store is of a technical nature, personal preferences, content personalisation, etc.

Cookies affected by regulations and exempted cookies

According to the EU directive, the cookies that require informed consent from the user are analytics cookies and advertising and affiliation cookies, while technical cookies and those necessary for the operation of the website or the provision of services expressly requested by the user are exempt.

What types of cookies are there?

Depending on who the entity that manages the domain from where the cookies are sent and the data obtained is processed, two types can be distinguished:

  • First-party cookies: These are sent to the user’s terminal device from our own equipment or domains and from which we provide the service requested.
  • Third-party cookies: These are sent to your device from a computer or domain that is not managed by us, but by another collaborating entity. For example, those used by social networks, or by external content such as Google Maps. According to the length of time they remain active.

There is also a second classification according to the length of time they are retained or the period during which they remain stored in the client’s browser:

  • Session cookies: Designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a website. They are generally used to store information that is only of interest to retain for the provision of the service requested by the user on a single occasion (e.g. a list of purchased products).
  • Persistent cookies: These are a type of cookie in which the data remains stored on the terminal and can be accessed and processed during a period defined by the cookie’s controller, which can range from a few minutes to several years.

Finally, there is another classification with five types of cookies depending on the purpose for which the data obtained is processed:

  • Technical and functional cookies: These are the most basic cookies. They allow the user to browse through a website, platform or application and to use the different options or services that exist on it, such as controlling traffic and data communication, identifying the session, accessing restricted-access areas, remembering the items that make up an order, carrying out the purchase process for an order, processing a registration or participation request for an event, using security elements while browsing, storing content for broadcasting videos or sound, or sharing content through social networks.
  • Personalisation cookies: These allow the user to access the service with certain general predefined features based on a series of criteria on the user’s terminal, such as the language, the type of browser through which they access the service, the regional configuration from which they access the service, etc.
  • Analysis or analytics cookies: These allow the party responsible for them to monitor and analyse the behaviour of the users of the websites to which they are linked. The information collected through this type of cookie is used to measure the activity of websites, applications or platforms, and to compile browsing profiles of the users of these sites, applications and platforms, in order to introduce improvements based on the analysis of the usage data made by the users of the service.
  • Advertising cookies: These allow the management, in the most efficient way possible, of the advertising spaces that, where applicable, the controller has included on a website, application or platform from which the requested service is provided, based on criteria such as the content edited or the frequency with which the ads are displayed.
  • Behavioural advertising cookies: These allow the management, in the most efficient way possible, of the advertising spaces that, where applicable, the controller has included on a website, application or platform from which the requested service is provided. They collect and store information on users’ personal preferences, behaviour and choices (retargeting) through the continuous observation of their browsing habits, in order to manage, in the most efficient way possible, the advertising spaces that, where applicable, the editor has included on a website, application or platform from which the requested service is provided.
  • Social cookies: These are set by social media platforms on the services to allow you to share content with your friends and networks. Social media platforms have the ability to track your online activity outside of the Services. This may affect the content and messages you see on other services you visit.
  • Affiliate cookies: These allow visits originating from other websites to be tracked, with which the website has established an affiliation agreement (affiliation companies).
  • Security cookies: These store encrypted information to prevent the data stored in them from being vulnerable to malicious attacks by third parties.
